Lady Hatters take silver at Penncrest Levesque Invitational
For the second time in as many years, Hatboro-Horsham captured the silver medal at the Penncrest Levesque Invitational Volleyball Tournament, finishing second only to Emmaus in the final standings.
The tournament featured 20 teams from the greater Philadelphia and Lehigh Valley areas, including Central Bucks South, Lansdale Catholic, Strath Haven, Sun Valley, Merion Mercy and Cardinal O’Hara.
The result, according to coach Kathy Tanner, was a total team effort although there were exceptional performances by the Hatters’ defenders – sophomore Candyce Riley, senior Caitlin Klotzbach as well as senior middle blocker Lauren Laucella.

Maidens take second in Spring-Ford Tournament
The Maidens rolled through pool play without a loss, defeating Downingtown West, Cheltenham, Radnor and Council Rock South. They rallied for a comeback win in three games against a very good Pope John Paul II squad in the semifinals but then fell to Spring-Ford in the final in three games.
"The girls were running on fumes, but they gave it all they had left against a strong Spring-Ford team," coach Bryan Yost said. "It was a complete team success for the Maidens. Every girl on the court played great."
