“Neshaminy played tough defense and dug up a lot of our attacks and won the first two games,” Rock South coach Scott Hibbs said. “Each game was an intense competition.
“The Hawks showed a lot of mental toughness and never-say-die attitude. Both teams showed great character.”
Cody Nowlin (17 kills), Chris Giampietro (13 kills), Connor Shields (12 kills) and Dave Wilkes (nine kills) all had big days at the net. Ben Krouse led the defense with 27 digs while setter Tim Beger handed out 51 assists.
“Chris Giampietro was sick,” Hibbs said. “He would ask for a sub, go to the bathroom and come back onto the court. He showed amazing character and dedication to his team. He is a true competitor.”
Rock South improved to 2-0 while the Redskins are 1-1.
