Council Rock North 46, Pennsbury 12

Continental Conference

Central Bucks South 37, North Penn 36
Even before the match began, Titan coach Craig Deacon told Greg Frasch that the outcome might just come down to his bout. He was certainly prophetic. When Frasch stepped out for the final bout at 220, the Knights held a 36-34 lead.
And Frasch rose to the occasion, defeating North Penn’s George Shipp, 4-2, to pull out the victory.
The match featured nine pins and one major decision.
“They came to wrestle,” said Deacon. “It seemed like our guys were resting on their laurels. North Penn has improved toward the middle of the season. I told our kids to expect a dogfight and that’s what they got.”
Nick Cassalia began the match at 220 with a pin. The Bucks also got falls from Chad Haegele (106), Chris Haegele (120) and Joe Rigous at 170.
Joey O’Brian (113), Cameron Healey (132), Max Myers (138), Jeff Reimel (145) and Alex Price (160) pinned for the Knights.
“The kids needed that,” said Deacon. “Hopefully it wakes them up.”

Central Bucks East 33, Central Bucks West 28
CB East won eight of 14 bouts in a match with many closely contested matches.
There were three key bouts for the Patriots. Francesco Fabozzi bumped up two weights and eked out a 16-15 decision. At 132, swingman Tim D’Arcy wrestled the best match of his life, winning 4-3, and Matt Ramsey won his first varsity match at 106.

Souderton 42, Quakertown 30
The Panthers bolted to an 18-0 lead on decisions from Josh Schwartz (126), Lucas Garges (132) and pins by Tyler Seislove (138) and Matt Stoneback (145), but Souderton rallied with five straight falls. Quakertown’s Matt Jorgenson stemmed the tide at 220 before the teams traded forfeits at 285 and 106. Souderton finished it off with a decision by Ben Kabakjian at 113 and Kolton Veit’s 10-4 decision over Alex Bruillea in the evening’s finale.
“He’s had some big wins,” said Souderton coach Tristan Boyd of Veit. “I’m excited for him.”
Although the Indians got off to a slow start, Boyd said he was pleased with the performance of some of his young wrestlers like freshman Ryan Derstine at 170 and sophomore Matt Koester at 182. Also inexperienced senior Jean Prado racked up a big win at 160.
