The Suburban One League/BAL softball squad that captured the 2019 Carpenter Cup title was honored prior to Monday night’s Phillies/Dodgers game at Citizens Bank Park. Also recognized was Burlington County, the 2019 Carpenter Cup baseball champion.
“The Phillies organization does a great job organizing the tournament, and they look to make improvements every single year, which is a great opportunity for girls to play and to grow the game,” coach Heather Boyer said. “Rick (Toressani), Ellie (White) and I were fortunate to have a really great group of girls to work with this year who were not only talented but really nice kids, and that makes it a good experience.”
Souderton rising senior Sam Nuneviller was named the Carpenter Cup MVP by the Phillies. The award, sponsored by Nike, is a new addition to the tournament this year.
