Souderton Girls' Track Captures District Crown

The Souderton girls' track and field team finished 1st overall and won their 1st District Championship in school history!

1st: Souderton - 41
2nd: Chester - 37
Tied for 3rd - CB East & Lower Merion - 35

Destini Smith finished first overall and set new district meet records in all three jumping events. Her High Jump mark of 5-9.5 also set a new school record. She now owns all 6 school records in long, high and triple jump (both indoor and outdoor). Smith won the long jump with a leap of 19-07.25 and the triple jump with a jump of 42-06.50.

Janae Pettway finished 2nd overall in the 100M Dash in both the prelims and finals - 12.08/12.24.

The 4x100 Relay of Isiyah Mcfadden, Laysha Lee, Brooke Wagner and Janae Pettway medaled and qualified for states...The 48.24 time in the prelims was the 2nd best in school history, winning their heat and advancing to finals...In the finals they ran 48.40n (7th overall).

Savannah Powlus medaled, advanced to states, and finished 8th overall in the 300M Hurdles, with a 46.05 PR. She also set a new PR in the 100M Hurdles with a 15.93

Aubrie Weismantel set a PR in both the 400M (states standard - 58.16) and 300M hurdles (46.74), finishing top 10 in both.

Carol Ann Descher finished 14th in the discus throwing, setting a 108-5 PM (finishing 10 spots higher than where seeded)
