STERLING LIMOUSINE AND TRANSPORTATION
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sterling Limo Player of the Week:
Owen Thomas, North Penn – The junior tight end caught a 68-yard touchdown pass that proved to be the turning point in last Friday’s District One 6A semifinal game against Coatesville, giving the Knights a 21-13 lead just before halftime on their way to the 42-25 win over the fourth-seeded Raiders. Thomas finished with 106 receiving yards and also had eight tackles to lead a standout defensive effort.
Coach Dick Beck says: “Owen made the biggest play of the game on the touchdown right before the half. Obviously, Reece (Udinski) threw a great pass, but Owen gets beyond the safety, catches it over his shoulder, runs down the sidelines to put us in the lead right before halftime. The great thing about (tight ends) Owen (Thomas) and Nick Vasger is that they’re both great blockers, but you can’t just focus on their run blocking because they can also catch the ball. We had a great running game, and his blocking up front was a big factor.
“Defensively, he also led our team in tackles and had a pass break-up. Any time the quarterback tried to scramble, he did a great job of keeping him in the pocket, keeping him in front of us. If he didn’t make the tackle, he contained the quarterback and allowed the other defensive linemen to make the tackle.”
