Sterling Limo Players of the Game (Wk 12)

Sterling Limousine and Transportation Services of Wrightstown is proud to recognize the Players of the Game for SOL teams that are part of each week’s SuburbanOneSports.com’s Featured Games. During the postseason, Sterling Limo will recognize Players of the Game for each of the winning teams.

#14 NESHAMINY at #11 NORTH PENN (North Penn 21, Neshaminy 7)
Sterling Limousine Offensive Player of the Game – Kyle Mayfield, North Penn
Mayfield left North Penn’s opening round district game against Bayard Rustin with an injury but came back strong in Friday night’s win over Neshaminy, finishing the game with 115 yards on just 12 carries.

North Penn coach Dick Beck says:  “Kyle had a big game offensively. He had a couple of long runs, and the thing I was most happy with was his blocking.  I always tell him he can’t get the ball unless he blocks, and he did a good job.”
Sterling Limousine Defensive Player of the Game – Ralph Reeves, North Penn
The senior linebacker anchored a defensive effort that allowed Neshaminy to manage just 117 yards of total offense. Reeves finished the night with seven solo tackles – one behind the line of scrimmage. He also had a sack and an interception.
North Penn coach Dick Beck says:  “When you have somebody inside like (Reeves), it makes you right in a lot of places. He’s calling the defense, setting the front, setting the coverages, so he’s doing everything for us.”
Sterling Limousine Special Teams Player of the Game – Luke Tillger, North Penn
Tillger has been the Knights’ long snapper since earlier this season, and on a night when North Penn punted four times, the importance of his role was underscored.
North Penn coach Dick Beck says:  “Ralphie was our long snapper earlier in the year, but this kid has a little more velocity. Last week, I think we punted four or five times, which is a record for us, and I was worried about their punt block because they give you so much pressure, but Luke really did an excellent job back there, throwing our punter strikes.”

#11 PENNSBURY at #10 COATESVILLE (Pennsbury 42, Coatesville 21)
Sterling Limousine Offensive Player of the Game – Daquan Mack, Pennsbury
The Falcons’ running back rushed for a career-high 186 yards on 22 carries. He also had a pair of touchdowns.
Pennsbury coach Galen Snyder says:  “He’s played very well for us, especially the second half of the season.”
Sterling Limousine Defensive Player of the Game – Tommy Hose, Pennsbury
The junior linebacker sparked the defense with nine tackles on a night that saw the Falcons contain the high-powered Red Raiders.
Pennsbury coach Galen Snyder says:  “They all played pretty well, but he has been a terrific player for us. He leads the team in tackles and has had a very good season.”
Sterling Limousine Special Teams Player of the Game – Shawn Pepper, Pennsbury
Pepper once again had a good night returning kickoffs for the Falcons and also had a fumble recovery on defense. It was Pepper’s long kickoff return after Coatesville trimmed Pennsbury’s lead to seven that set up a touchdown to give the Falcons a 28-14 lead.
Pennsbury coach Galen Snyder says:  “He had a nice kickoff return against Coatesville, and he had the big one against Abington. He’s a big play type of player.”

#9 DOWNINGTOWN EAST at #1 COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH (CR South 31, Downingtown East 19)
Sterling Limousine Offensive Player of the Game – Brian Donnelly, Council Rock South
The Golden Hawks’ senior quarterback ran for 181 yards on 18 carries. He had a pair of touchdown runs, including a 41-yard TD run in the third quarter to give Rock South a 21-13 lead.
Council Rock South coach Vince Bedesem says:  “Brian has been doing the job for us all year long, running the offense the way it is meant to be run. With a physical and tough approach to the running game, Brian brings the running abilities of both a fullback and a halfback.”
Sterling Limousine Defensive Player of the Game – Aaron Presley, Council Rock South
The senior defensive back has been a key part of Rock South’s secondary all season, and he came up with a key interception in the second quarter that set up a touchdown to put the Golden Hawks on top 14-7. They never lost their lead the rest of the way.
Council Rock South coach Vince Bedesem says:  “Aaron has been very exceptional in our secondary all year. With all of the front four pressure we have been getting week in and week out, he gives our secondary the ability to umbrella our coverage and ball hawk throughout the game.”
Sterling Limousine Special Teams Player of the Game – Nick Cocco, Council Rock South
Cocco was thrust into the role of punt returner for the Golden Hawks, and his big return on the first punt of the night gave Rock South field position inside Downington East’s 50-yard line.
Council Rock South coach Vince Bedesem says:  “Nick has been a very consistent and unselfish player all year long. In an offense that rarely throws the ball, Nick really prides himself on his blocking skills. Nick has great hands and was thrown into the duties of punt returning when he replaced Ryan Hickey, who has been our punt returner the last two years. Returning punts is one of the most difficult skills in football. Nick set the tone on the opening punt of the game when he gave us great field position.”
