Sterling Limousine Offensive Co-Player of the Game – Robert Knox, Upper Moreland
The Golden Bears’ senior standout had touchdown runs of one, 21 and 12 yards while accumulating 140 yards on 20 carries.
Coach Dave Heying says. “In my opinion, Knox is just a special player. You don’t get players of his athleticism, ability and football acumen very often. I consider myself very fortunate to have coached him. He’s definitely one of the finest, if not the finest football player I have ever coached. He might not have the natural athleticism or freakish strength of some kids that go on and play Division One, but as a high school football player, he’s pretty special. I think that’s indicated by the coaches in the league voting him first team offense and defense two years in a row. That’s pretty rare. Last year he was one of the few kids that were first team offense and defense, and to do that two years in a row, there’s nobody in his grade that I know of that did that on both sides of the ball.”

Sterling Limousine Offensive Co-Player of the Game – Dan Cummings, Upper Moreland
The senior wide receiver scored on a 51-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Charlie Hooker to put the Golden Bears on top 21-7 late in the first half. He finished the game with a pair of catches for 63 yards.
Coach Dave Heying says:  “I was really glad he got that big play. We threw a couple out to him earlier in the year, and he didn’t make the big play for whatever reason – the ball was a little overthrown or underthrown. I was just glad he did that. He’s got so much speed, and he’s a good kid. He’s worked hard. This was his second year playing organized football, and for him to make that big play in his last high school game – I was really proud of him. I think that was probably the biggest play in the game and also the play I was happiest about happening because he had that opportunity.”

Sterling Limousine Defensive Co-Player of the Game – Chris Kitchen, Upper Moreland
The senior linebacker not only picked up a Hatters’ fumble and took it in six yards for a touchdown, he also had five solo tackles and six assists.
Coach Dave Heying says: “Kitchen is just a great football player. He’s a real good linebacker, and he just sets the tone with his toughness. He runs from tackle to tackle. He makes plays. He puts kids in position, and he knows what’s coming. As far as our team, he’s pretty much the captain of the defense. He gets kids in spots, he calls the fronts, and he calls the schemes. He does a wonderful job.”

Sterling Limousine Defensive Co-Player of the Game – Todd Cappiello, Upper Moreland
The senior linebacker forced a pair of fumbles and also recovered a fumble. He also had a pair of sacks and three solo tackles.
Coach Dave Heying says:  “In my opinion, Cappiello was probably one of the most improve
d kids of the whole year. He worked really hard in the offseason and gained so much weight. We played him at tight end and D-end or outside linebacker depending on the front most of the year, and as the season wore on, he started to lose a little weight. We took him off the tight end spot, so he would be fresh on defense. When we tell the kids before Thursday’s game, ‘Remember what happened last year. Play your hardest. This could be your last game ever,’ he really took that to heart. He just went all out, and he just had an excellent, excellent game. For him to play his best and go out the way he did, I’m really proud and happy for him.”
