STERLING LIMOUSINE AND TRANSPORTATION
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Sterling Limo Offensive Players of the Game:
First star: Hatboro-Horsham offensive linemen Brett Johnson, Tristan Long, Nick Chapman, Jake Hunsberger, Mark Custer, Jake Schalki, Jordan Colazzo and wide receivers Ben Ejimonyuegwo and Calvin Broaddus Jr. –
Behind a dominating effort by their offensive line and the downfield blocking of their wide receivers, the Hatters piled up 354 yards on the ground in Hatboro-Horsham’s 28-3 win over Souderton.

Coach Mike Kapusta says:  “The offensive unit blocked with effort, technique and intensity. This was a key factor in clearing the way for the backs to rack up 354 yards rushing and three touchdowns.”

Second star: Zak Kantor, Pennridge – In his varsity debut behind center, the junior quarterback was 10-for-13 for 166 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions in Pennridge’s 29-0 rout of a Perk Valley squad that brought a 2-0 record into the game.
Coach Jeff Hollenbach says:  “He made excellent decisions, managed the game well and led us to an important win over a strong Perk Valley team.”

Second star: Chris Edwards, Hatboro-Horsham – The senior quarterback was electric in the Hatters’ 28-3 win over Souderton, rushing for 148 yards and one touchdown on 12 carries. He also completed 2-of-3 passes for 29 yards and a TD.
Coach Mike Kapusta says:  “He effectively led the offense with zero turnovers. He was 2-for-3 passing with a touchdown to Ejimonyuegwo and a key third down completion for a first down to Broaddus on top of a stellar rushing performance.”

Third star: Malik Bootman, Upper Dublin – The Cardinals’ senior running back scored all four of his team’s touchdowns in Upper Dublin’s 28-3 win over Lansdale Catholic, finishing with 145 yards on 19 carries.

Sterling Limo Defensive Players of the Game:
First star:  Central Bucks West defense –
The Bucks’ defense was literally impenetrable in Central Bucks West’s 20-0 shutout win over a Quakertown team that was 2-0. The Bucks allowed just 29 total yards and four first downs, stymying the Panthers at every turn..
Coach Chas Cathers says:  “They’ve been playing well. We really focus on three aspects of defense. It comes down to tackling, swarming to the football and taking the ball away. I think the last three weeks what I’ve seen is we’ve been swarming to the football, less missed tackles than in years past, and we’ve had 10 takeaways in the last three games, so I think we’re really executing on all three of those points of emphasis that we talk about at practice.
“The whole defense was part of what we’ve accomplished the last three weeks, especially the last game. We’re only as strong as our weakest link, so if one of those guys isn’t performing or isn’t executing, we’ll falter.”

Second star: Ty Tracy, Central Bucks East – The senior linebacker, who has been the team’s leading tackler this season, had eight tackles to spearhead a defensive effort that saw the Patriots allow just 96 yards of total offense in Central Bucks East’s 41-0 win over Methacton.

Third star:  Harry S Truman defense – The Tigers allowed just 125 yards of total offense in their 41-0 win over William Tennent.

SOL Honor Roll:
David Akinwande, Harry S Truman – The senior running back ran for 191 yards and two touchdowns in Truman’s 41-0 rout of William Tennent.

Tucker Chaikin, Pennridge – The senior wide receiver had three receptions for 81 yards in Pennridge’s 29-0 win over Perk Valley.
Zach Demarchis, Pennsbury – The junior quarterback threw for 142 yards and a touchdown and ran for 152 more and another TD in Pennsbury’s 29-20 loss to North Penn.
