STERLING LIMOUSINE AND TRANSPORTATION
PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Sterling Limo Offensive Players of the Game:
First Star: Noah Wood, Quakertown – Wood has been a workhorse for the Panthers on both sides of the football. In Quakertown’s 40-28 win over Wissahickon, the senior running back had 247 yards and three touchdowns on 21 carries. He also had six solo tackles, six assisted tackles – five tackles for a loss – and two sacks.
Coach George Banas says: “Coming into the season, we knew we had a couple of guys returning that had played, and Noah was a three-year starter and an all-league selection. We knew that we would have to lean on him pretty hard this year as far as being a leader offensively and defensively, and he hasn’t disappointed. Not once. He’s out there banged up and hurting, and he will not come off the field. You know when the whistle blows from snap to snap, he will give all that his body can humanly give in between the whistles and then try to recover.
“He’s our emotional leader, he’s our physical leader. Essentially how he goes is how we’re going to go. He’s a great kid to boot. He’s a tremendous student, always does the right thing.”
Second star: Chase Patterson, Council Rock South – The sophomore running back, the brother of former Rock South standout Brendan Patterson, had a breakout performance with 209 yards and two touchdowns on two carries, leading the Hawks to a 12-6 win over Harry S Truman.
Third Star: Reece Udinski, North Penn – The senior quarterback once again led the Knights, throwing for 228 yards and three touchdowns in North Penn’s 48-20 win over Central Bucks West.
Sterling Limo Defensive Players of the Game:
First star: Matt Norris & Nate Norris, Central Bucks South – The South siblings had a hand in 27 tackles in South’s 27-6 win over previously unbeaten Central Bucks East. Matt had 14 tackles (10 solo) with 2.5 tackles for a loss and one sack. Nate had 13 tackles – nine solo – in a contest that saw the Patriots rush for 77 yards.
Coach Tom Hetrick says: “Matt and Nate once again led our team in tackles. Between the two of them, they seem to be everywhere at all times. They possess the ability to play downhill in the box, but also pursue the ball from sideline to sideline. They are both very sure tacklers and have a played a significant role in the success of our defense so far this season.”
Second star: TJ Pritz, Council Rock South – The sophomore defensive end was a catalyst in Rock South’s 12-6 win over Harry S Truman, leading the Golden Hawks with 10 tackles, three sacks and one quarterback hurry.
Third star: Nick Tarburton & Joe Robinson, Pennridge – The duo has led the Rams every week in tackles, and they were once again the leaders of a defensive unit that stymied Souderton in the Rams’ 38-10 win, combining for 16 tackles. Tarburton had a team-high nine tackles, two for a loss, and Robinson had seven, two for a loss.
