Sterling Limousine Players of the Game

Sterling Limousine and Transportation Services, sponsor of Saturday’s SOL Game of the Week between Council Rock South and Pennsbury, is proud to recognize Council Rock South seniors Mark Damirgian and Hunter Shull as the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Game.

“They have both been with us since they were freshmen,” coach Vince Bedesem said. “They were coming into the weight room when they were going into their ninth grade year. We saw a tremendous amount of potential in both of them.
“At that time, they gave us depth we were lacking. We weren’t the frontrunners way back when. We even talked about that the week before the Pennsbury game. They have seen a lot as far as the classes before them modeling what it takes to build the program. It does start with our offseason program. Both kids are tremendous leaders.”

STERLING LIMOUSINE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME

Mark Damirgian – Council Rock South
The Golden Hawks’ senior running back scored all three of his team’s touchdowns. Damirgian rushed for 134 yards on 20 carries, which included touchdown runs of five and 27 yards. He also hauled in a 12-yard touchdown pass.

Coach Vince Bedesem says: “I can’t say enough about Mark. I wouldn’t call Saturday’s game a breakout game. He has been doing that consistently for the past two years, but it was really, really nice to see another dimension to his game. He added the power running game, which is what we like to do within our scheme. We finesse people with our option, but it’s also built in to have a power running game.

“Mark is a great athlete. When he started out early on in our system, he would line up in the slot and catch passes. He has speed, and he’s a real good athlete. This other dimension he exemplified last year and really showcased the other day was our power running.”

STERLING LIMOUSINE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME

Hunter Shull – Council Rock South
Shull – an outstanding linebacker - anchored a Rock South defense that recorded its fourth consecutive shutout in its 24-0 win over Pennsbury. The Falcons managed just 110 yards of total offense and went beyond midfield just twice the entire game. They never got inside the Golden Hawks’ 40-yard line.

Coach Vince Bedesem says: “He’s got a huge heart, that’s for sure. He has shown that during his four years with the program. He’s a fighter, and the way he works out is the way he plays on the field. The way he approaches practices is the way he plays in games. He’s such a competitor, and it’s not surprising what he does on the field.

“He has great instincts for the game of football. As much as Billy Fleming is the quarterback of our offense, Hunter is the quarterback of our defense.”
