Sterling Limousine Players of the Week '24 (Wk 3)

Sterling Limousine and Transportation Services of Wrightstown is proud to recognize the SOL’s Players of the Week. Players are chosen based on the nomination of SOL coaches and football contributors. This year’s Sterling Limo Players of the week are in memory of John Donohoe.

Luke Foley, Hatboro-Horsham – The senior running back – just back from an injury (a dislocated shoulder) –was the offensive catalyst in Hatboro-Horsham’s 34-32 win over Abraham Lincoln. Foley had 14 carries for 229 yards and two touchdowns and also had one reception for 32 yards and a touchdown. He accounted for three of his team’s touchdowns and 262 yards of total offense.

Owen Pinkertown, Central Bucks South – The senior quarterback is the engine of the offense for Central Bucks South, and in the Titans’ 33-7 win over Upper Dublin, Pinkerton was the leading ground gainer with 102 yards and one touchdown on 13 carries. He also completed 11 of 18 passes for 200 yards, finishing with 302 yards total offense.

Offensive Player of the Week

Christian Taormina, Central Bucks East – The senior offensive tackle put his name in the program’s record book in Central Bucks East’s 38-13 over Council Rock North, recording a school record 11 pancake blocks in a contest that saw the Patriots amass 466 yards total offense. East rushed for 368 yards on 34 carries for an average of 10.8 per carry.

Defensive Players of the Week

Timmy Meehan, Jayden Bergey & Julian Adorn, Souderton – The three players were the cornerstone of a standout defensive effort in Souderton’s 20-13 win over Central Bucks West, combining for 41 tackles. Meehan, a junior safety, led the Indians with 17 tackles while linebackers Bergey and Adorno each recorded 12.

Special Teams Player of the Week

Ayden Turner, Abington – The Ghosts’ kick returner had a big night in Abington’s 28-20 loss to Bensalem. Turner had 123 total punt return yards, including a 52-yard punt return. He also had 136 kickoff return yards, which included a long return of 66 yards. Turner’s total return yardage was 259. A wider receiver/defensive back, he also had two catches for 53 yards and one touchdown.

Sterling Limo Honor Roll:
Trevor Fuhs, Pennridge – The senior linebacker anchored the defense in in Pennridge’s 19-0 shutout win over Harry S Truman, leading the Rams with 13 tackles.

Kevin Hegerty, Plymouth Whitemarsh – The senior linebacker was once again a force on defense in Plymouth Whitemarsh’s 51-6 rout of Interboro, contributing five tackles and intercepting a pass and taking it 38 yards for a touchdown.

Marcus Laffredo, Plymouth Whitemarsh – The senior wide receiver had four receptions for 40 yards and two touchdowns in Plymouth Whitemarsh’s 51-6 win over Interboro.

Caiden Leszczynski, Plymouth Whitemarsh – The senior quarterback had a half to remember in Plymouth Whitemarsh’s 51-6 win over Interboro, throwing four touchdown passes and propelling the Colonials to a 44-0 lead. Leszczynski was near perfect, completing 10 of 11 passes attempts for 125 yards and 4 TDs.

Houston Marshall, Souderton – The senior running back/safety had seven carries for 130 yards in Souderton’s 20-13 win over Central Bucks West. On the defensive side of the ball, he had 14 tackles.

Anthony Pereira, Pennsbury – The junior kicker is an offensive weapon for Pennsbury, and in the Falcons’ 23-15 win over Council Rock South, Pereira connected on field goals of 30, 26 and 18 yards.

Max Peterson, Plymouth Whitemarsh – The sophomore kicker was a perfect 7-for-7 on PATs in Plymouth Whitemarsh’s 51-6 win over Interboro.

Quasir Sampson, Wissahickon – The junior running back had another big game in Wissahickon’s 56-28 win over Lower Merion, finishing with 22 carries for 162 yards and two touchdowns.

Hunter Smeltz, Souderton – The junior wide receiver had a big night in Souderton’s 20-13 win over Central Bucks West, finishing with five catches for 102 yards and a touchdown. Included in those five catches was a 57-touchdown reception that won it for the Indians.

Carson Schneider & Luke Howell, Neshaminy – “The two linebackers were difference makers on defense in Neshaminy’s 21-14 win over Cheltenham. Schneider, a junior had nine tackle – three tackles for loss – and one fumble recovery. Howell, a sophomore, also had nine tackles – two TFLs - and a fumble recovery.

Dom Shepperd-Harvey, Wissahickon – The junior accounted for four touchdowns in Wissahickon’s 56-28 win over Lower Merion, finishing with eight carries for 66 yards and three touchdowns and one reception for 16 yards and a touchdown.

Ben Walsh, Souderton – The junior quarterback accounted for two of his team’s touchdowns in Souderton’s 20-13 win over Central Bucks West. Walsh threw a 57-yard TD pass late in the game to win it, and he also ran for a TD.
