Player of the Week
CJ Johnson, Springfield Twp – The senior running back was the undisputed catalyst of Springfield Twp’s 41-17 win over previously unbeaten Upper Moreland. Johnson scored the game’s first touchdown on a 29-yard run. The Spartans took a 21-17 lead into halftime, and a pair of touchdown runs by Johnson – the first from 13 yards out and the second on a 78-yard run – put the Spartans on top 34-17 on their way to the decisive win. Johnson finished a brilliant outing with 302 yards and three touchdowns on just 18 carries. That’s an average of close to 17 yards a carry. Last Friday’s win was the first over Upper Moreland for the Spartans in more than a decade,

Elijah Hampton, Souderton – The junior defensive back is a difference maker on both sides of the football for the Indians, and in the second half of Souderton’s 49-13 win over Cheltenham, Hampton returned a fumble 45 yards for the score. He also came up with a pick six, returning an interception 50 yards for a touchdown. In addition, he blocked an extra point.

Defensive Team of the Week
Central Bucks South Defense – It’s impossible to ignore the stellar defensive effort of the Titans in Central Bucks South’s 12-7 win over Pennsbury. The defense did not allow a touchdown, and if ever a win belonged to the defense, this was it. The Titans limited the Falcons to just 48 yards total offense, and while the Titans had 73 offensive plays, the Falcons had just 21.
Sterling Limo Honor Roll:
Thomas Bailey, Bensalem – The junior did it all in Bensalem’s 31-13 win over Council Rock South. Bailey – who had been sidelined for two weeks – made an impressive return to the gridiron. He led the Owls’ ground game with 11 carries for 115 yards and two touchdowns, and on the defensive side of the football, Bailey had an interception. He also served as the team’s punter for the first time.
Everett Baker, Plymouth Whitemarsh – On the heels of his five-touchdown performance in PW’s win over Penn Wood, the senior running back another big game in Plymouth Whitemarsh’s 38-0 win over Hatboro-Horsham, finishing with six carries for 110 yards and two touchdowns. He also had one reception for 34 yards.
William Dougherty, Pennridge – The junior running had a big night running the football in Pennridge’s 47-0 win over Abington, finishing with 21 carries for 181 yards and two touchdowns.
Magnus Figueroa, Central Bucks East – The junior defensive end led the Patriots’ defense in Central Bucks East’s 42-21 loss to North Penn.
Noah Keating, Pennridge – The junior quarterback threw three touchdown passes in Pennridge’s 47-0 win over Abington.
JoJo Sudi, Souderton – The junior halfback converted his only two carries into touchdowns in Souderton’s 49-13 win over Cheltenham with touchdown runs of 38 and 22 yards.
