Amy Cross was a captain of both Upper Dublin’s field hockey and lacrosse squads this year. A first team All-American in lacrosse, she was a four-year varsity starter and this spring was named the SOL American Conference Player of the Year. She scored 226 goals during a stellar career and had 72 this year for a Flying Cardinal squad that rolled to an American Conference crown during an undefeated regular season. “She’s been a really good leader this year on a team where, a lot of games we didn’t get challenged a whole lot, and we had to keep the girls focused,” coach Dee Cross said.
Cross – one of three finalists for the Upper Dublin Medal – will be playing in the inaugural National Senior Showcase in Disney World in July. Her considerable talents have earned her a lacrosse scholarship to Syracuse University this fall. She is undecided on a major.

Ryan Kreston was a captain and undisputed leader of this spring’s Hatboro-Horsham boys’ lacrosse team that advanced to the state tournament and also earned a share of the Continental Conference crown. He scored 58 goals and contributed 44 assists and was named the SOL Continental Conference MVP. “He’s one of the greatest character young men you will ever encounter,” coach Dave Sowers said. “Integrity and work ethic top Ryan’s list.”
Earlier this year, Kreston signed up for a filmmaking course. One of the films he created for the class took second place out of 70 entries in the Greenfield Youth Festival. His second film won another award, and he is considering a career in filmmaking. An excellent student – he takes numerous honors and AP classes, Kreston will attend the University of Maryland.
