BOYS: Upper Moreland 4- Plymouth Whitemarsh 0
NORRISTOWN,PA- Plymouth Whitemarsh was glad that they would no longer
face Upper Moreland's Eric LaFlamme due to graduation. When the Bears
last visited the Colonials at Facenda in late January/early February
2010, LaFlamme had a game in which he started with nine consecutive
strikes and ended that game with 266.
On this Wednesday 5 January 2011, however, had another
emerging Bear on the spotlight: Kurt Rosenberger. Many spectators and
competitors did not realize that in game 2, Rosenberger had a perfect
game through the first eight frames, before he opened in the ninth,
finishing that game with 256. Rosenberger followed through on the third
game, connecting with 238. Jared and Dean Simonsen, twin brothers, also
were consistent helping the surprising bears continue the lead in the
Suburban One American Conference.
Plymouth Whitemarsh, which dropped to 11-17 overall and
7-13 SOA, was led by Andrew Rexroth, who rolled 214 in game 2 and 222 in
game 3. The Colonials took out Dave Duncan, Pat Galleo, and Julius
Selfinger throughout the match; Galleo and Duncan later returned to varsity.
GIRLS: Upper Moreland 3- Plymouth Whitemarsh 1
NORRISTOWN,PA- Not one single Lady Colonial had rolled a 200 game up
until this point in 2010-2011. If the Lady Colonials wanted to snap
their twelve consecutive games skid, someone would probably need toroll
a 200 game to put a number in the win column. Plymouth Whitemarsh senior
Lauren Enslin, a 4-year varsity bowler, scored a season and career-best
232 in the first game agasinst Upper Moreland, which was good for
Plymouth Whitemarsh to defeat the Bears in game 1 to snap their 12-game
losing streak. However, the Lady Colnials could not find a rhythm in
games 2 and 3, rsulting in a 3-1 match loss to visiting Upper Moreland.
Upper Moreland's best individual score came in
game 3 when Tracey Tardif recorded 191.
