William Tennent seniors Chelsea Meltzer & Caitlin Somerville were recognized for committing to continue their soccer careers at the collegiate level.
Chelsea Meltzer – Moravian University (Soccer)
Coach Bill Hontz says: “Chelsea was a four-year varsity letter winner. She showed great presence her freshman year and did really well. We were looking forward to her senior year, especially with the team that we had. Right before the season started, she tore her ACL, so she was out for her senior year, but she showed up to everything. She really did well with the news that was given to her. She was supportive of the team and was a captain of the team as well. She also runs track, and as a player, she’s quick and aggressive. She was our winger and had a deadly left foot.”
Caitlin Somerville – Misericordia University (Soccer)
Coach Bill Hontz says: “Caitlin came to the team in 10thgrade. I did have a chance to coach her at the middle school for seventh and eighth grades because I’m at Log College. She went to Villa for a year but came back to us in her 10thgrade year, and she became a captain her senior year. She’s soft-spoken, but you know her presence on the field. Caitlin has an inner drive. She works hard at practices, and I know she works hard with her younger sister outside of practices on her own. She was a center mid, and she controlled the field for us basically in the middle.”
