Wissahickon Boys water polo goes 1 and 1 at Northridge tournament

The Wissahickon Boys Varsity Waterpolo team won one game and lost one game this weekend at the Northridge tournament.  In the first game, Wissahickon jumped out to an early lead against Governor Mifflin High School, leading five to three at the half.  Mifflin came roaring back in the second half outscoring Wiss 7 to 3 resulting in a final of 8 (Wiss) to 10 (Mifflin).  Greg Beyer lead the offensive attack for Wiss with 4 goals, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 3 kick outs drawn.  Other Wiss goals were scored by Brad Jones (1), Luke Waechter (2), and Eun Bae (1). Mac Henessey had another solid game in goal stopping 16 shots.

In the second game of the tournament, Wissahickon defeated Perkiomen Valley by a score of 11-8. The first half was a defensive battle with each team only scoring 3 goals.  It was solid team effort on defense with Mac Henessey stopping 10 shots and Billy McFarland, among others, dropping back to support the defensive effort.  The Trojans shots came alive in the second half scoring 3 goals in the third period and 5 goals in the fourth.  The offense was lead by Brad Jones (4 goals, 2 steals), Luke Waechter (4 goals, 1 steal and 3 kick outs drawn).  They were supported by  Eun Bae (1 goal, 2 assists), Alex Bolen (1 goal, 1 assist, 1 steal), Jake Behring (1 goal), Luke Tarzia (1 assist, 2 steals), and Greg Beyer (6 assists, 2 steals).
