On September 17th the Wiss boys traveled to perennial rival North Penn and suffered a loss by a score of 12-8. Despite a solid first half that ended in a 5-5 tie, North Penn battled past the Trojans to secure the win. Wissahickon was plagued by penalties and lost momentum as a result. Of note during the game was the solid play offensively and defensively by sophomore Jake Berring who racked up 5 goals on 9 shots, 1 assist and 3 steals. Luke Waechter scored 3 goals on 7 shots. Alex Bolen and Luke Waechter got rolled from the game. While Mac Hennessey played solid in goal with at least 10 saves, the Trojan's could not shut down North Penn's number three who had 6 of their goals. Keep playing hard boys, you can beat this team!
The JV boys also lost to North Penn, 8-4. Freshman John O'Donnell and sophomores Nick Pak, Jeff Beyer and Brad Greer scored for the Trojans. Jeff Beyer lead the team defensively with three steals supported by Jake Valentine and Alex Zavitsanos with two steals each. Ben Tate played well in goal with 10 saves.
