Swimming districts took place this past Friday and Saturday at LaSalle University. Wissahickon girls did an amazing job, finishing 8th out of over 50 teams. All of the team's freestyle records(individual and team) were broken. Amanda Zlotnikoff, Carly Zlotnikoff, and Kelly Wild swam individual events. Amanda Zlotnikoff swan the 50 Free and broke the record twice - first in her 6th place finish in the individual event, then again leading off the 200 Free Relay and she qualified for states. Her 100 Backstroke placed 11th and also qualified her for states. Carly Zlotnikoff swam the 200 Free, setting a new record in her 12th place finish and qualified for states. She also swam the 500 Free which set a new record in her 4th place finish and earned an automatic slot to states. Kelly Wild swam the 50 Free, tied the old record, placed 8th and qualified for states. Her 100 Free set a new record, placed 14th and put her as the 2nd alternate for states. Our relays also did a great job.The 400 Free Relay (Amanda, Lili Xu, Carly and Kelly) broke the record they set at League champs by 7 seconds, placed 6th and qualified for states.The girls 200 Free Relay (Amanda, Lili, Carly and Kelly) broke the record they set at Leagues, placed 11th and qualified for states. State Championships will take place March 16th and 17th at Bucknell University. Congrats to all of the girls that participated!
