Wissahickon boys water polo ease by Springfield, 12-4.
The Wissahickon Boys varsity team defeated the Springfield Spartans by a score of 12-4. Wissahickon had a balanced offensive attack with seven players scoring. Senior Robby Wilson lead the Trojans with three goals plus 2 assists. He was joined by Luke Waechter (2 goals, three assists); Alex Bolen (2 goals, 1 assist and 4 steals); Jake Berring (1 goal. 2 assists, and three steals); Danny Knoll (2 goals and 2 assists); Luke Tarzia who scored a goal and was defensively “in their face”. Coming off the bench and contributing to the win were Jeff Beyer (1 goal, and 3 steals); Ben Tumulo (1 assist and 1 steal); and Steven McFarland with 1 assist and solid defensive play.Mac Hennessey and Ben Tate both played solid defense in goal, holding the Spartans to just 4 goals.
While the Spartan girls defeated Wissahickon’s JV and varsity girls squads, the Trojan girls demonstrated a solid team effort scoring more goals and making smarter and more effective plays throughout both the games.
