Thursday September 8th the Wissahickon Boys and Girls Varsity Water polo teams joined forces to take on a Co-Ed Upper Merion water polo team. The boys and girls Trojan teams, who normally practice separately, demonstrated that solid defensive play can eliminate the need for extensive offensive strategy. There were 18 steals made by the Trojans, many of which were turned into breakaway goals at the opposite end. Solid Goaltending work behind the brother-sister duo of Jake and Caitlin Valentine also contributed to the defensive stand. Jake (senior) made 3 saves on 4 shots faced in two quarters and Caitlin (sophomore) tallied 6 saves on 9 shots faced. The Trojans won the game in a final score of 12-4. A great team effort.
