Wissahickon seniors Andrew Tran and Vidit Makwana placed four in the PIAA Tennis Doubles Tournament.
Wissahickon seniors Andrew Tran and Vidit Makwana just completed their high school tennis careers by placing fourth at the PIAA Boys Tennis Doubles Tournament in Hershey on May 24 and 25. They had a great come-from-behind win over Gabe Knowles and Andrew Nicolae from Nazareth High School 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 in the first round on Friday, May 24.
Later on that day, they defeated Jason Kline and Sammy Schwab from Central Dauphin High School with a straight set victory 6-2, 6-3. In the semis, on Saturday May 25, they then were defeated by Naman Dua and Colin Gramley from Shady Side Academy 7-5, 6-3. They dropped another two setter to Dylan Tull and Jack Muraika from Cedar Crest High School, losing 6-1, 6-4. Andrew will continue his tennis career at John Hopkins University in the fall and Vidit will be attending University of Maryland.
