On Monday, May 23, 2022, Abington senior Pat McCalister was recognized for committing to continue his baseball career at Rosemont College.

Reasons for choosing Rosemont: “It was just a really nice campus, and the coaching staff there was really nice from the start. They were just very honest, and that was a great sign.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in baseball at the collegiate level? “I’ve always wanted to play in college, and when Coach Ross (Trachtenberg) at Rosemont gave me the chance, I was like, ‘I’m going to accept that,’ and I never turned back.”
Coach Bill Degen says: “Pat’s the ultimate team guy. He’s the first guy to pick up the equipment and the last guy to leave, making sure everything is put away. As a pitcher, when his curveball is working, he’s very, very effective. The kids call him MC Hammer. He’ll do a nice job. He’ll help Rosemont out next year.”
