Bobby Curry – Mansfield University (Baseball)
Major: Undecided/Business
Final list of colleges: Mansfield, Bloomsburg, Niagara, Monmouth, Kutztown
Reasons for choosing Mansfield: “I chose Mansfield because it felt like the right place for me to develop as a player and as a person, and it was really good financially. I’m most confident that I’ll get a chance to play freshman year.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in baseball at the collegiate level? “Ever since I was young, I always played baseball. As soon as I got to high school, I thought it would be really nice to play in college, so I decided to try my best to make it to the next level, and I was able to do that.”
Coach Bill Degan says: “Bobby is a good left-handed pitcher. He throws strikes, he’s getting stronger and picking up his velocity. He has a good idea of how to pitch. I think that as he gets stronger, he’ll definitely be a good college pitcher.”
About Bobby:
Favorite food: Pizza
Favorite movie: Major League
Favorite artist: Lil Baby
Kevin Worek – Lock Haven University (Baseball)
Major: Mathematics
Final list of colleges: Lock Haven, East Stroudsburg, West Chester
Reasons for choosing Lock Haven: “I was considering Lock Haven, West Chester, East Stroudsburg and several other PSAC schools, and Lock Haven really gave me what I needed, which is playing the field and pitching. “
What was the progression that led you to competing in baseball at the collegiate level? “About four years ago, I joined a program, Pro Tech, that helps people get into college to play baseball, and I just stuck with it and kept going. They were the ones who set me up with the Lock Haven camp.”
Coach Bobby Degen says: “Kevin is just a monster. He’s huge, and he’s just continuing to get better and stronger. He really commands the strike zone, and he can drop down to a submarine every once a while just to keep hitters off balance. He will definitely help at the next level. In high school, he’s probably a middle of the order guy, and he’s a good defender. I’m not sure where he’s going to shake out on the infield, but he’ll definitely be on the infield when he’s not pitching.”
About Kevin:
Favorite food: Hot Dogs & Mac ‘n Cheese
Favorite TV show: The Office
Favorite artist: Ski Mask
