Bensalem senior Alyssa Dalrymple was recognized for committing to continue her field hockey career at Arcadia University.

Reasons for choosing Arcadia: “At first I wanted to go to a school that was far away from home, but after I visited Arcadia, I realized that the distance from home didn’t matter as much as the quality of the school. They have many amazing science programs and are in the top list for forensics. In addition, I am very interested in studying abroad, and they give students many opportunities to travel and take classes in different countries. All in all, the faculty and students that I met when I visited made my decision easier, along with the beautiful campus.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in field hockey at the collegiate level? “I first began playing rec field hockey in sixth grade, and I immediately loved the sport. I then went on to middle school and played at Snyder for two years. After middle school, I played in high school and knew that it would be a little more challenging. There was a lot more running and there was more competition, but I still loved the sport and I played all four years. After the season was done, I went to the Arcadia Prospects Camp and was offered a roster spot by the coach. I always knew I wanted to play field hockey in college, but I also knew that I wanted my academics to be one of my top priorities. Arcadia gives me that opportunity and understands how to help me be a great athlete and a successful academic student.”
Coach Amanda Tu says: “Alyssa will be a great asset to Arcadia’s team. She worked extremely hard her four years of high school and dedicated a lot of time working at the skills needed to succeed. She is quick, smart and a team player. Bensalem is losing a key player, and it will be very hard to fill her shoes.”
