On Wednesday, May 26, 2021, Bensalem senior Deja Howe was recognized for committing to continue her track & field career at Gwynedd Mercy University.

Final list of colleges: Gwynedd Mercy, La Salle
Reasons for choosing Gwynedd Mercy: “Even though La Salle is a Division 1 school for sports, I chose Gwynedd Mercy because it has a very good nursing program. I really enjoy playing volleyball and doing track, so I look forward to continuing my athletic career over there.”
Bensalem track coach Mary Ellen Molloy says: “Deja Howe has been with us for four years. She came out as a freshman, very unsure of herself. Her progression has been steady through the four years. Missing last year because of COVID hurt her, but she made up for it this year. From her freshman year to her senior year, she’s added about seven feet to her shot put PR. She understands how to work hard, she understands the consistency that’s needed to become a better athlete at the next level. Gwynedd Mercy is gaining a tremendous athlete in Deja. Best of luck to her.”
