On Thursday Feb. 23, 2023, Central Bucks East senior Abbie DiGregorio was recognized for committing to continue her swimming career at Fairfield University.

Reasons for choosing Fairfield: “The team environment when I went and visited – they were like a family, and it was so high energy. I just knew that was something I wanted to be a part of.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in swimming at the collegiate level? “I started swimming when I was eight, and I started loving it more and more, so I joined my club team. As I was getting to high school, I wasn’t really sure. I played lacrosse too, and I wasn’t sure which sport I wanted to keep going with, but as soon as I joined the high school team, it was the right fit. The team is like a family, and it was a lot of fun. I knew that was the sport I wanted to continue.”
Coach Kris Moyer says: “Abbie DiGregorio was a great captain. She was the spirit of the team, always getting everyone excited for our meets. She was a dedicated captain, she’s very responsible, and she always knows exactly what to do. She’s a hard worker and was committed to the East swim team. Fairfield is so lucky to have her. She’s just an incredibly talented swimmer.”
