Danielle DeMichael – Gettysburg College (Soccer)
Major:
Health Science with a minor in Business
Final list of colleges:  Gettysbury, Salisbury, Scranton
Reasons for choosing Gettysburg:  “I really think that they are going to give me a good education, and I know it has a great reputation. On top of that, the campus is really nice, and the athletic facilities are really impressive. Their coach was named coach of the year last year, and they also went to the NCAA Tournament, so I’m really excited.”
What was the progression that led you to playing soccer at the collegiate level?  “Ever since I was a little kid, I loved soccer and always just had a passion for the game. I could always see myself playing. Even when there were some tough times, it’s always brought me back to soccer because it’s my favorite thing in the world.”
Coach Paul Eisold says:  “Danielle started out as a forward and ended up playing right midfield. She only played three years, and what a bonus having her come back out. Danielle was a key player this year. She stepped up in a huge role as a senior. She’s a determined, hard working player, and her physicality and strength dominated opponents. Danielle improved greatly since her freshman year, and she will be an asset to Gettysburg’s program.”

What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate soccer?  “I knew from my freshman year that I wanted to play in college. I never could have imagined life without it – I knew I loved it so much I wanted to keep my career going.”
Coach Paul Eisold says:  “Kristen was a midfielder/forward. She was a key contributor to the season. Her speed was dominating. Coaching for many years, I see the seniors really stepping up as leaders, role players and being a positive influence, and both Kristen and Danielle did that.”
