CB East's Raysky & Roth Commit to Play Collegiate Soccer

On Thursday, Feb. 22, 2023, Central Bucks East seniors Nick Raysky and Joey Roth were recognized for committing to continue their soccer careers at the collegiate level.

Nick Raysky – Elizabethtown College (Soccer)
Major:
Undecided
Final list of colleges: Elizabethtown, York
Reasons for choosing Elizabethtown: “I was originally going to York, but their head coach got another offer at E-town, and he asked me to visit the campus, so I visited. They’re better academically and soccer-wise, so I chose to go to E-town.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in soccer at the collegiate level? “I’ve been playing soccer my whole life. Whenever I’m on the field and playing, I just get into this flow, this state – everything is clear, and it’s very fun for me. I just want to play, so I chose to play in college.”
Coach Josh Isaacsohn says: “It has been my pleasure to coach Nick for the last few years on the varsity soccer team. Nick has had some memorable moments, including his clutch goal against Souderton, a slight jewelry issue where his coach got in trouble and the many times he came up defensively big in important situations. However, in my opinion, Nick’s biggest strength is his communication and leadership skills both on and off the field.
“It is my belief that Nick will take these strong communication and leadership skills with him to college and let them thrive throughout the Elizabethtown soccer community. However, and more importantly, I know he will take these important life skills with him throughout the rest of his life. They will only get stronger each and every step of the way. Congratulations to Nick and the Raysky family on this exceptional accomplishment. Etown is lucky to have you.”

Joey Roth – Moravian University (Soccer)
Major:
Kinesiology/Exercise Science
Final list of colleges: Moravian, Scranton, West Chester, Montclair State
Reasons for choosing Moravian: “I went there a couple times – I did the tour, I did a couple of ID camps. People always say it feels like the right place. Being with the team, it felt like a family, and I knew it was the right place for me.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in soccer at the collegiate level? “I always just had the desire to play at the next level. It got to senior year, and the next level is college, so I might as well pursue it.”
Coach Josh Isaacsohn says: “It has been my pleasure to know Joey and the Roth family since they moved here from Texas when he was in elementary school. Since that time, it was apparent that Joey possessed a strong work ethic and great leadership qualities combined with a growth mindset about his academics as well as his soccer skills. Over time, these skills have only strengthened and have led him to where he is today.
“These previously mentioned attributes are what led Joey to be a strong player during his years on the CB East soccer team. After a successful junior season, Joey and I had various discussions about moving him up the field into a forward position. We both had positive feelings as well as a few reservations. However, Joey took this challenge head on and thrived. This led him, but more importantly, our team to have great success and more overall goals scored than in previous years.
“I have no doubt that Joey will continue to bring these outstanding qualities to the Moravian soccer community. Congratulations to Joey and the Roth family for this exceptional accomplishment. Moravian is lucky to have you.”
