“What they have in common is they’re both just natural athletes,” South coach Janique Craig said. “They love coming to practice, they love games, they just love the sport, and I think that’s what sets them apart from the other players around. They both have a true love for the game, and they have fun out there.”
Krysta Reading – Lock Haven University (Lacrosse)
Major: Sports Medicine
Final list of colleges: Lock Haven, IUP, East Stroudsburg
Reasons for choosing Lock Haven: “I have heard so much about Lock Haven, so many good things. My lacrosse coach went there and talked about it. It’s in the middle of nowhere, and it’s so pretty. I loved the girls, and the coach is awesome. I just knew it was the place for me.”
What was the progression that led you to playing lacrosse at the collegiate level? “When I was younger, I thought I was going to play soccer, but as I got more and more into lacrosse – I realized I wasn’t half bad. I started liking it more, and I just knew that was my sport and I wanted to play in college. It’s what I wanted to do.”
Coach Janique Craig says: “Krysta is an attack player, and I really think she brings her soccer skills to the lacrosse field. Just her basic moves to goal and her footwork and her athletic ability gave her a step up on the other players and opponents.”

Courtney Taylor – Temple University (Lacrosse)
Major: Communications
Final list of colleges: Temple, Drexel, JMU
Reasons for choosing Temple: “I like that it’s close to home and that I’ll be in the city. Also, their communications program is really big there.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in lacrosse at the collegiate level? “When I started playing club for Ultimate, I think that’s when I realized I wanted to play because everyone around me was so talented, and it made me love the game that much more.”
Coach Janique Craig says: “Courtney has been our defensive stopper since her freshman year. I always had her guard the best player on the other team, and she loves challenges. Every time I gave her a challenge, she was up for it, and I think that makes her want to be a better player and athlete.
Ultimate coach Michele DeJuliis says: “She’s a phenomenal athlete, and we’re really fortunate to have a kid like her in our club. She’s just an overall really good kid, and her work ethic speaks for itself. She’s always been a major contributor. With her ability to get up and down the field, she can contribute on both ends. She’s always been that reliable player we can count on.”
