On Thursday, March 2, 2023, Central Bucks South senior Lily Haag was recognized for committing to continue her field hockey career at Drexel University.

Reasons for choosing Drexel: “I loved how close it was to my home, and my sister goes to St. Joe’s, so it’sreally close to her. I liked having that family right there, and my dad also works close to Drexel. I loved the team environment and the school, so it was the perfect fit for me.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in field hockey at the collegiate level? “I started playing hockey when I was little, and ever since then, I’ve always had the dream of going Division 1 for hockey. As soon as it started coming closer, I really wanted to pursue that.”
Coach Pat Toner says: “Lily is a fantastic defender. I love the way she contains people on the field. She’s really good at basic defensive skills, and she’s a very good leader on the team as far as being able to control what other teams are doing, so instead of just reacting to what everyone else did, Lily’s very good at dictating what everybody else was going to do. It’s great to have a defender that understands that concept and goes by it. She’s awesome.”
