On Thursday, May 16, 2024, Central Bucks South senior CJ Haney was recognized for committing to continue her softball career at Niagara University.
CJ Haney – Niagara University (Softball)
Major: Biology
Final list of colleges: Niagara, Monmouth, Charleston
Reasons for choosing Niagara: “I chose Niagara because it was just a wonderful new environment and new experience away from home. All the people were so warm and welcoming, so it was kind of a given.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in softball at the collegiate level? “I always knew I wanted to compete in college because I always strive to be the best I can be. I’m just naturally a competitive person. For softball, I just love the team spirit and adrenaline.”
Coach Jason Gable says: “CJ is a workhorse. She may be one of the hardest working athletes to have ever come through my career. She has tremendous athletic talent, an insanely intelligent mind when it comes to training protocol and game play, and drive to work as hard as possible to push beyond her own limits. I always said you could put CJ in any sport, and she would quickly become a top member of the varsity team, while helping motivate and push the rest of the team to be better. Throughout the years of coaching CJ, she has always striven to be a model of hard work and focus, and to be a great teammate. These skills have made CJ become an icon of the team, a leader to her teammates, and they are skills that will get her very far in life. She is poised for great things at the next level: collegiate softball for Niagara University.”
