CB South's Samayoa to Play Basketball at Lock Haven

On Thursday, May 16, 2024, Central Bucks South senior Yoyo Samayoa was recognized for committing to continue her basketball career at Lock Haven University.

Final list of colleges: Lock Haven, Ursinus, Bloomsburg

Reasons for choosing Lock Haven: “I think it was the people I met when I went on my visit. It just felt very homey, and that was the biggest thing for me. I felt like I would belong there and be happy there. They have a competitive basketball program, and I think the basketball program will be a good fit for me.”

What was the progression that led you to competing in basketball at the collegiate level? “I started playing basketball in fourth grade. I’ve always been a competitive person. Once I realized I really liked basketball and started committing to it in fifth and sixth grade – I just always saw myself playing college because I just enjoyed the game so much and want to keep going with it.”

Coach Beth Mattern says: Yoyo is an incredibly hard worker, and I’m really proud of her and what she has put into growing herself in the game of basketball.  I know she will be a great asset at the next level, and I can’t wait to cheer her on.”
