Noah Hill – Ithaca College (Football)
Coach Chas Cathers says: “We’re definitely going to miss Noah – he was a force on the defensive line for us. Noah is a phenomenal player. He’s strong, he’s explosive, and he’s a great teammate as well. He looks like a big, scary guy, but really he’s a very kind soul. He’s nice to his teammates. He’s almost like a gentle giant, but once he gets on the football field he’s a different type of player. He’s a great player, and we’re looking forward to his career at Ithaca as well.”
Jacob Scheila – Grove City College (Football)
Coach Chas Cathers says: “Jacob was a linebacker and fullback for us. He was also a great leader on team. He led the defense, and he did a great job on offense for us. He’s physical, and once again was one of those great vocal leaders we had on the team that really helped the transition. All three of these guys really helped the transition for me for my first year – buying in and really trusting me and really pulling everyone together. He’s going to do a great job playing linebacker at Grove City, and I’m looking forward to following him as well.”
Eddie Shields – Susquehanna University (Football)
Major: Civil Engineering
Final list of colleges: Susquehanna, Gettysburg, Ursinus, Delaware Valley
Reasons for choosing Susquehanna: “I went up and visited the school on a Saturday on their Accepted Students Day, and I met their coaching staff and saw their facilities and just fell in love with the school. I sat in on a class, and it was just a great experience. The teachers and professors – I enjoyed them and I enjoyed the class I sat in on. I just really liked the campus.”
What was the progression that led you to playing football at the collegiate level? “I’ve always played sports, so I knew I wanted to play something to keep busy, whether it was a club or a collegiate sport. After this past football season, there were opportunities for me to play at the next level, and I took it.”
Coach Chas Cathers says: “Eddie was our quarterback last year, and he’s a natural born leader. He isn’t always the most vocal guy, but he’ll lead by example, and his teammates really followed him. He’s the first person on the field and usually the last one off the field, so he puts in the work.
“He’s going to Susquehanna and we’re really excited for him. He’s a great kid – not just a football player. He’s involved in the community - he does a lot with Athletes Helping Athletes. He’s a great student-athlete, which is what we look for. I wish him the best of luck at the next level, and we’re looking forward to following him as he progresses in his career.”
