On Tuesday, June 7, 2022, Central Bucks East seniors Jimmy Mullevey, Quinn Collins & Rocco Ianiero were recognized for committing to continue their football careers at the collegiate level.
“All the kids that are venturing into college to play athletics right now are being affected by the portal and NIL, but it’s great to see these guys have persevered and have secured excellent opportunities for themselves in the future,” East coach John Donnelly said. “All three guys are going off to great academic institutions, and we wish them all the best as they represent their family, their school, the program and their community. Eastside Pride!’
Rocco Ianiero – Ursinus College (Football)
Major: Computer Science
Final list of colleges: Ursinus, Geneva College, Westminster
Reasons for choosing Ursinus: “The coaches, the people, and the team made me feel like I was playing back at East.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in football at the collegiate level? “In seventh grade, Nils Updale’s dad recruited me from Diamond Ridge to play seventh grade football, and that really started it. In 10th grade and 11th grade, that’s when I really fell in love with the sport.”
Coach John Donnelly says: “Rocco Ianiero is one in a million. He was in our youth camp for many years and really willed himself into becoming a good football player. He’s very athletic for his size and is extremely committed to the weight room. When Rocco puts his mind to it, he is unblockable because of his size, strength and leverage, and he does that pretty often!”

Favorite food: Pizza
Favorite movie: Jaws
Favorite music: Rap
Quinn Moody – Sacred Heart University (Football)
Major: Business
Final list of colleges: Sacred Heart, Lehigh, Delaware, Elon
Reasons for choosing Sacred Heart: “I just thought it was the best opportunity for me to develop and play sooner. It also fit me well socially and academically. It had the major I wanted, so it was a pretty good fit overall.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in football at the collegiate level? “I originally wanted to play baseball up until my junior year. During junior year of high school baseball season, I ended up tearing the labrum in my shoulder. I always played football more as a side thing, so once I got hurt from baseball, it was like, ‘You know what, I’ll just give football a shot and see what I can do,’ and I kind of just took it from there.”
Coach John Donnelly says: “Quinn Moody has been a three-year varsity guy for us. He’s played a lot of football. It has been really a pleasure to see him mature over these three years both as an athlete and as a person. Quinn lives in my neighborhood, so I see him all the time. He is extremely dynamic and tough. Quinn will do extremely well in all three phases of the game and whatever side of the ball they decide to put him on. He really is a multi-purpose athlete who can do it all. I want to wish the best to Quinn as he signs on with Sacred Heart, an outstanding 1AA program that has been extremely consistent and performed at a high level over the last couple of years.”
About Quinn:
Favorite food: Pasta
Favorite movie: Grown Ups

Jimmy Mullevey IV – Ithaca College (Football)
Major: Marketing & Business Administration
Final list of colleges: Ithaca, West Chester, University of New Hampshire, Catholic University
Reasons for choosing Ithaca: “When I was going to all the other schools on visits, I found out that Catholic was focused too much on academics and not enough on football while West Chester was too primarily focused on athletics and not enough academics. When I went to Ithaca, they had an amazing academic support for the athletes while their football was incredibly competitive. I just felt at home at Ithaca.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in football at the collegiate level? “When I was a junior – at the end of the season, coach Donnelly told me that it was really a possibility that I could play in college. I’ve always had the dream to play in college. It was always a goal, but I didn’t think it was a reality until the beginning of my senior year when I strapped on the pads for the first game. That’s when I realized it was a reality for me.”
Coach John Donnelly says: “Jimmy Mullevey is a young man who’s been in our program for a long time both as a football player and part of our youth camp for many, many years. Jimmy possesses a great personality and work ethic. Once on the field, Jimmy turns into a different kind of animal. He is an extremely aggressive run blocker and has honed his skills as a pass blocker. Jimmy served as a captain for us this past year and was extremely strong in that capacity. We wish Jimmy all the best at Ithaca. It’s a wonderful program, and we’ve sent many kids there through the years.”
