Allie Chase – Boston College (Softball)

Major: Meteorology

Final list of colleges:  Boston College, Georgetown

Reasons for choosing Boston College:  “It came down to the surrounding area. I just fell in love with the city of Boston, and I just thought it was such a cool campus, being out of the city but being able to get to the city. I loved the softball program and the coaches. I just loved everything about Boston.”

What was the progression that led you to playing at the collegiate level?  “I started looking at colleges when I was a sophomore, and I was so overwhelmed. I didn’t know if I was good enough. Last year it all kind of started sinking in, and I was like, ‘I’m going to do this. I have to pick one.’ I picked Boston College, and it was just like my ultimate goal was accomplished.”

Highlight of high school career:  “My freshman year when we beat Hatboro-Horsham. They’ve always been our rival, and we beat them 2-1 in a home game.”

Coach Erin Scott says:  “Allie is just a really well-rounded kid. I still remember her coming in as a freshman. She’s the kind of kid who will thank me after every practice and is just a generally a really nice kid. She’s very deserving of this. She’s an extremely athletic, extremely skilled player. She’s gotten more disciplined as she’s gotten older. She’s just a great ballplayer. Offensively, she’s really strong. She plays center field for us, and she has a lot of speed. We’re looking for her to have another great season before she leaves.”
