Luke Gregory – University of Rochester (Baseball)
Major: Engineering/Finance
Reasons for choosing Rochester: “I chose the University of Rochester because I wanted a university that was committed to its students both on and off the field. During my visit to UR, I felt a true connection with the coaching staff and current members on the team, which solidified my decision. The university’s motto Meliora, which means “ever better,” fits my personal beliefs to always strive to be the best I can be in life.”
What was the progression that led you to playing baseball at the collegiate level? “Playing college baseball has always been a dream of mine since I was in Little League, and it started to become a reality during the summer of my sophomore year. I sat down with my parents and made a list of schools that I would be interested in attending, and then with the help of my high school and travel coaches I began to start communicating with college coaches during my junior year.”
Coach Ted Kirner says: “Luke was our starting varsity catcher for the last three seasons. As a two-year captain of the team, Luke provided excellent leadership on and off the field. Luke is a fierce competitor and an avid student of the game. I look forward to following Luke’s career at Rochester University.”
