Reasons for choosing West Chester: “The moment I walked onto the campus I felt comfortable there. I fell in love with their academics, athletics and the atmosphere. I knew it was the perfect fit for me.”
What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate softball? “I’ve always enjoyed playing softball, and because of the support of my parents and my coaches, they really pushed me to look into playing in college. Once I decided what my major was, it was an easy decision to decide to play.”
Former Souderton coach Courtney Hughes said: “Sarah was someone who was kind of back and forth about whether or not she was going to play softball in college. She loved academics, and she was all about academics, and she wasn’t sure if softball was going to work with her academics. To see it finally piece together for her where she could find a place that had the academics and allowed her to pursue softball at a high level – I was really excited for her. To me, it would have been a sin if she hadn’t played in college because she’s so talented.
“One of the things that stands out about Sarah is her worth ethic, and she just rubs off on other kids. She reminds me a lot of Liz Parkins in that she is someone that other kids admire because of the intensity she brings on and off the field. She has that positive attitude that rubs off on other people. She’s not the yelling type, she’s not someone who has to get up there and be mean in any way. People just look at her and look at what she does and they respect her.
“She’s always been talented from such a young age, and her hard work through the years has propelled her to this point.”
