Charlie Obrecht – Stevenson University (Football)
Major: Elementary Education
Final list of colleges: Stevenson, Ithaca, Juniata, Lycoming
Reasons for choosing Stevenson: “After a few campus visits that included Stevenson, I felt that Stevenson was the best fit for me academically and athletically. The facilities at Stevenson are amazing, and it is an up and coming football program.”
What was the progression that led you to playing football at the collegiate level? “I started playing football at age eight. After each season, my confidence and love for the game grew more and more. After my senior season, I knew I wanted to continue playing at the next level. I put together my highlight film and spoke with a few recruiters who visited our high school. I feel very blessed to have been given the opportunity to play at the next level.”
Coach Michael Kapusta says: “Charlie Obrecht was a captain and our unquestioned leader on the field in 2014. He led our team in receptions, TDs, yards, and tackles. He is a hard-nosed competitor who made big plays in clutch situations, and he raised the level of play of his teammates.”

The recruiting process started junior year of high school after being selected as an all-state wide receiver with a 3.8 GPA.
Coach Michael Kapusta says: “John O'Malley is a rare individual. An All-State selection in 2013, he possesses top-notch athletic talent combined with a stellar academic record. Most importantly, he is a young man of the highest character. Although sidelined with a major injury for most of 2014, he remained involved with the team as a leader off the field. It is an understatement to say that we missed his presence on the field greatly.”
