On Thursday, May 12, 2022, Hatboro-Horsham’s Hunter Long, Jaadyn Vanderburg, Markel Roberts-Jackson & Chrishon Avery were recognized for committing to compete in collegiate football.
“Obviously, this year was a very tough, difficult and unfortunate year these young men and the football program,” coach Ken Remaily said. “However, their perseverance is really the true definition of what it is all about to be a young man striving to do your best. The fact that these four with our season ending are able to play at the next level has been an unbelievable accomplishment for them. I’m proud of all four of them. You guys have made me a better man, I can’t thank you enough for everything you’ve done for Hatters’ football.”
Jaadyn Vanderburg - Alvernia University (Football)
Coach Ken Remaily says: “Jaadyn Vanderburg is attending Alvernia. He’s one of the hardest workers I’ve ever met. He’s not the biggest, he’s not the strongest, but he’ll give you everything he’s got. I know his dad is going to look down on him as he continues, and it’s going to be a great experience for him at Alvernia.”
Chrishon Avery - Bloomsburg University (Football)
Coach Ken Remaily says: “As a junior, Chrishon Avery was a second team all-league safety. He was a wideout running back and safety for us this year. He’s known around the Suburban One as being a punishing safety. He’s going to Bloomsburg University where I attended. It’s a great place to be. I know he’s going to do a great job there. He’s the athlete they need, and it’s going to be awesome.”
Markel Roberts-Jackson - Ursinus College (Football/Track & Field)
Coach Ken Remaily says: “Markel Roberts-Jackson is going to be a dual-sport athlete at Ursinus. He’s competing in track and field, and he’s also playing football with Reda Oueldaissa. Markel was one of our leaders. He did a great job. He was our quarterback and safety. He’s a tremendous athlete. He and Reda are going to have a great time at Ursinus. I’m going to have a chance to get up there and see them play. These guys will have a great career.”
Hunter Long - Dickinson College (Football)
Coach Ken Remaily says: “Hunter Long was our rock. He was a winner of a Mini Maxwell Award this year. He was also first team all-league linebacker. He’s playing at Dickinson College, and he has an opportunity to play one year with his brother. I don’t know if he’s more proud of that or if his dad’s happier about it, but either way, it’s going to be a great experience.”
