On Thursday, May 26, 2016, Hatboro-Horsham seniors Jordan Higgins and Alyssa Quinn were recognized for committing to continue their track careers at the collegiate level. Check back to a view a Photo Gallery of the event.
“I’ve had the privilege of coaching these two young ladies for four years,” coach Anna Baker said. “I started coaching spring track five years ago, and I couldn’t have asked for two better standout athletes to continue their careers at the collegiate level. I’m so proud of them.
“Each of them has two school records on our school record board. Alyssa has the 3200m record in 11:28.4 – she broke a 13-year record. She was part of the 4x1600 relay that broke the school record. Jordan has the record in the 300m hurdles (46.44) and was part of our shuttle hurdle relay that has the school record. They’re phenomenal athletes – they’re who you’d want on your team. They’re hard working. They’re always there for each other and for the team. Most importantly, they’re always looking out for the team, which is great.
Jordan Higgins – Shippensburg University (Track)

Final list of colleges: Shippensburg, Lock Haven, Kutztown
Reasons for choosing Shippensburg: “The campus is very, very nice, and their biology program is the best that I saw.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in track at the collegiate level? “I started in seventh grade, and from then on, I’ve always been running every season. When I got to high school, it was implied – go to college and run while you’re at it. Since you’ll be bored, you might as well go for a run.”
Coach Anna Baker says: “Jordan has put in the hard work and has a lot of passion. She’s helping other hurdlers accomplish goals.”
