On Tuesday, May 12, 2022, Hatboro-Horsham seniors Isabelle Bombas & Anastasiya Tsetsko were recognized for committing to continue their volleyball careers at the collegiate level.
Isabella Bombas – Shippensburg University (Volleyball)
Coach Jon Young says: “I have coached Bombs for seven seasons, and I’m not the easiest coach by any degree. As far as I can tell looking back at the stats, Bombs now holds the single season record for kill percentage at over .400. That is a huge deal, let alone to be done in her position in the middle, but that’s probably not what sticks out most about Bombs to me. I’m an authentic coach – I say what I think. Bombs didn’t start out the best volleyball player. She is singlehandedly the best example I have seen of a player that decides they want something and puts the work in and gets the results because of it. She is a top five district hitter, no question. She has not gotten the attention she deserves. We’re really excited to see her at Ship. We know she’s going to have a great career.”
Anastasiya Tsetsko – Bay Path University (Volleyball)
Coach Jon Young says: “A lot has been said about resilience and work ethic. Nastya moved from Belarus as a sophomore to the United States. She didn’t speak the language, she didn’t have connections or friends, and about three weeks after we started school, we went virtual because of COVID. Now we’re in a virtual state, she doesn’t speak the language, and she doesn’t have friendships she’s been developing, and three months later, she led us to an undefeated season on the outside – almost an undefeated in sets season, 30-1, and she also happened to go all-state that year. I’ve been saying for a while – someone is going to get very lucky with Nastya. Because of the move and COVID, she wasn’t quite seen, but she’s going to destroy that conference at Bay Path. Good luck, we look forward to seeing you play.”
