On Thursday, May 16, 2024, Hatboro-Horsham senior Kitty Randa was recognized for committing to continue her basketball career at Kutztown University.

Reasons for choosing Kutztown: “I really liked the coaches. When I went, the campus was a lot nicer than I expected. I met the team, and they were all super nice, and it just seemed like a good fit.”
Coach Eric Glemser says: “Kitty was a surprise coming in sophomore year. She didn’t play her freshman year. Emily Thomas recruited her off the soccer team. She just wanted to get better all the time. She started playing AAU for Upper Makefield Heat, and that really helped her. Everything we did went through her – our offenses, our defenses. All our sets went through her, and she had the option to change it if she wanted to, and she did a lot of times. This year was a struggle. She tweaked her ankle really bad – it swelled up big, and she was back two days later. I couldn’t believe it. I would always tease her that she wasn’t that tough, but when it came down to it, she really was tough.
“She was always happy, no matter what. If we were up 20 or down 20, I could ask her – ‘What do you think about this?’ We would talk about players to put in the game and different matchups. For only being around basketball a few years, she’s really a sponge, and I think she’s just going to get better and better and better. I don’t think we’ve seen the best of her yet.”
