Christopher Hobbs – York College of Pennsylvania (Soccer)
Major: Business Administration
Final list of colleges: York College, Muhlenberg College, Providence College, University of Rhode Island, King’s College, Lycoming College, Cabrini College
Reasons for selecting York: “Their five-year MBA Program, great soccer program, close to home, great coaching staff, and just an overall great fit for me as a student-athlete.”
What was the progression that led you to playing your sport at the collegiate level? “I made the decision to play in college once I changed to Yardley Makefield Soccer (YMS) in eighth grade and played ODP soccer. The recruiting process really started in sophomore year getting those initial emails out to coaches. It concluded February of senior year when I finally made my choice. It was a very long and frustrating process, but I found the right fit and am extremely happy with my decision to attend York College of Pennsylvania.”
Coach Kyle McGrath says: "Chris was an instrumental player in our program over the last four years. He was a rare breed in that he started all four seasons on the varsity team. His versatility was seen as he played outside back, center back, forward and center midfield at various points of his career. He was the engine for the team the last two seasons and was a great example for younger players in the program. He will certainly be missed next season.
“Chris's college choice is also exciting to me as I also attended and played at York College of Pa. I know Chris will thrive in the new environment and I look forward to seeing him play at my alma mater!"
