Kayla Kenney – Villanova University (Field Hockey)

Major: Undecided

Reasons for choosing Villanova:  “My sister went to George Washington, which is close to Virginia, and I wanted to stay close to home so I could see my family whenever (I wanted to). I really loved the coach – Joanie Milhous. The second I began talking to her and walked onto the campus, I got a good vibe, and I knew this was the right place.”

What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate field hockey?  “Just the fact that I enjoy doing it everyday – it never gets old for me, and I knew it was something I wanted to do because I’m pretty competitive, and I just enjoy playing hockey. I thought it would be good to pursue it.”

What was your favorite high school field hockey memory?  “My first year here – which was my sophomore year – when we won districts and then we made it to the quarterfinals of states. To go that far and have such a young team was really incredible, and that’s one of my highlights.”

Coach Jeff Harding says:  "I am not sure where she will play at the collegiate level, but Kayla has played both in the midfield and attack with Central Bucks South and the True North Hockey Club.  Kayla possesses tight skills in tight spaces, which will provide Villanova with a solid possession player. I believe that Villanova was a good choice as it will provide her a chance to utilize those skills in her freshman year along with incorporating studies from a school that has a great academic reputation."
