Jack Hughes – Ursinus College (Football)
Major: Biology
Final list of colleges: Ursinus, Delaware Valley University, Lycoming College, McDaniel College, Rowan University
Reasons for choosing Ursinus: “Ursinus has the reputation of having great academics and an above average football team.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in football at the collegiate level? “I first started playing football my junior year of high school just for fun. I then realized that I was better than I thought I could be at the sport. After building a strong bond with the rest of the team, I soon realized that this was the sport for me.
“I continued to play the sport and lifted during the entire offseason. One afternoon in the offseason, Coach Wilmot came up to me, telling me that the coach from Morgan State said that he liked me. I was pleasantly surprised, and it was at that moment that I began to think about playing football at the collegiate level. Two other schools came in contact with me soon after (including Ursinus), and I then realized that I wanted to play in college.”
Coach Steve Wilmot says: “Jack was very diligent about his choice of college. He was in contact with and visited many, taking into account academics as well as football concerns. Overall, Ursinus met all of his needs. Ursinus is getting a very conscientious and talented kicker. Jack will do a great job balancing athletics and academics and will be a great inspiration to the rest of his teammates. I love his choice of majors (Biology) and I’m looking forward to following his career.”

Zachary Magdelinskas – Misericordia University (Football)
Major: Nursing
Reasons for choosing Misericordia: Exceptional nursing program
What was the progression that led you to competing in football at the collegiate level? “Since I was younger, I wanted to play against the best competition. I enjoyed wrestling and football at the high school level, but I always knew I wanted to play football at the college level.
“The recruiting process started when coaches came to visit at Neshaminy my junior year. I visited several schools and toured their facilities before committing to Misericordia. The campus and coaches felt like a good fit for me.”
Coach Steve Wilmot says: “I couldn’t be more excited about Zack’s college choice of Misercordia. I think the first time Coach Ross and Zack met last spring they really hit it off. His family is familiar with the area around Misercordia and Zack has had relatives graduate from the college. Having a great nursing program really made the decision easy. Coach Ross and Misercordia are getting an extremely passionate football player who will work harder than anyone to be the best player he can be. He will be a great teammate and he will help continue Misercordia winning ways.”
