North Penn Trio Playing Collegiate Football

On Thursday, May 26, 2022, North Penn seniors Jalen Edwards, Darren Miller & Levi Carroll were recognized for continuing their football careers at the collegiate level.

Levi Carroll – West Chester University (Football)
Final list of colleges:
West Chester, Shippensburg, Bloomsburg
Reasons for choosing West Chester: “I chose West Chester because it’s close to home, and they gave me a scholarship.”
Coach Dick Beck says:  “Levi Carroll was at North Penn as a freshman, and he transferred back his junior year. I wish he had been here all four years. He had a really good junior year and just exploded last fall as a senior. He was first team all-state, first team all-league. He had tremendous statistics. Anyone at our games knows how electrifying he is. He was heavily recruited among all the PSAC schools. He chose West Chester. I think that was a great choice for him. He received a great scholarship, and I expect huge things from him in college.”

Jalen Edwards – Lafayette College (Football)
Major:
Undecided
Reasons for choosing Lafayette:  “I picked Lafayette because they made me feel like I was home, and it’s close to my parents.”
Coach Dick Beck says: “Jalen Edwards has been starting for us for three years – a three-year letter winner and a three-year starter. He was a first team all-league defensive back. He earned a full scholarship to Lafayette. He went to camp and blew it up - the coach called me right away. It was great to see him get offered and accept. He played in the East-West All-Star game. I expect big things. He’s been a tremendous part of our program for three years, and I wish him luck at Lafayette.”

Darren Miller – West Chester University (Football)
Final list of colleges:
West Chester, Shippensburg, Bloomsburg, Millersville
Reasons for choosing West Chester:  “I chose West Chester because it just felt right there. It was the best fit for me.”
Coach Dick Beck says:  “Darren Miller has played with us since he was a freshman. He’s a four-year letter winner and a team captain. He was first team all-league two years in a row. He’s been a tremendous player for us, and he was highly recruited among all the PSAC schools. He’d be a Division 1 guy if he was three inches taller, and he’d be recruited by Penn State and Alabama. He’s got size, speed and strength. He has a great attitude, he’s a hard worker. The only negative I would say about Darren is he doesn’t talk. Sometimes you don’t know where you stand with him. You tell him a joke, and he won’t smile. You tell him something serious, he won’t frown. He always has the same look on his face. I expect him to be a three- or four-year starter at West Chester and be a tremendous asset to their program.”
About Darren:
