Kloey Carminati – East Stroudsburg University (Soccer)
Major: Undecided
Final list of colleges: ESU, West Chester, Towson
Reasons for choosing ESU: “I ultimately chose East Stroudsburg because instantly the coach told me that their soccer team was like a second family to each other, and that’s very important to me. I also liked the campus.”
Favorite memory: “Last season our journey making it to states and playing with my best friends.”
Most important thing learned at North Penn: “Throughout my athletic experience, I definitely learned dedication and just being determined throughout the season, and I gained so many teammates that turned into long lasting friendships and coaches I will always remember.”
Coach Mike Rio says: “I had the pleasure of coaching Kloey for the last four years, and it is no surprise that she has decided to play collegiately. Throughout the time I have coached her, she’s never settled, she’s always worked hard to try and get to where she wanted to be both on the field with playing time and never stopping, always putting forth effort. She’s someone I look at as a model for the younger girls to follow, someone who’s never stopped and someone they can look up to. She’s embraced the role of a leader, especially in the past two seasons. Not just vocally but with the way she plays on the field in practice and in games. She really is the type of player you would love to have 11 just like her on the field.
“I’ve also had the pleasure of teaching her as well, so I know that she brings that same enthusiasm to the classroom, and she will be successful both on the field and off the field in college. I remember one of her best moments was scoring three goals in our first state playoff game last year, and she really was an integral part of that state playoff run. She began to get more playing time as the season went along, and it is no surprise that our team got better as a result. She’s a great player, and we wish her all the best in the future.”
