Joey Tomlinson – Robert Morris University (Soccer)
Major: Special Education & Elementary Education
Final list of colleges: Robert Morris, West Chester, West Point, Point Park
Reasons for choosing Robert Morris: “The location of the school was exactly what I was looking for. The moment I stepped on campus it felt like home. The soccer coach and team were so welcoming, and I knew the city of Pittsburgh would be a perfect home away from home.”
Coach Audrey Anderson says: “Joey Tomlinson is leaving Pennridge High School as the most decorated female soccer player in the history of the school. She’s won everything you can win as an athlete at the high school level. She’s been to the state championship game twice and won a state title, she’s won two district championships and she’s won the conference title four years straight.”
“What made Joey so good was her drive and desire. She didn’t always have the easiest road while she was here, but she stuck it out. Whatever we asked of her she would do, and she would do it to the best of her ability. She’s a great role model to the little kids in our community. They come to games and have signs for her – they all want to be her. She’s definitely left her mark here.”
