On Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023, Pennridge senior Katie Yoder was recognized for committing to continue her basketball career at Goldey-Beacom College.
Katie Yoder – Goldey-Beacom College (Basketball)
Major: Undecided
Final list of colleges: Goldey-Beacom, Jefferson, Holy Family, Chestnut Hill
Reasons for choosing Goldey-Beacom: “It was a great fit for school, and I loved the coach and team.”
What was the progression that led you to competing in basketball at the collegiate level? “From watching my brothers, I knew that I wanted to play and that basketball was going to be my sport. When I progressed and saw that I could play at a higher level and that I could keep developing, that really determined it for me, and I continued to work super hard to get to that moment. Eventually, when it came, it was kind of crazy, but it all worked out.”
Coach Jason Rapp says: “Katie is a great teammate and was our hardest worker every day. She was a leader by example. Katie was the focus of probably every scouting report this season and was able to put together some incredible numbers almost every night. I know our younger players respect the way she goes about being high school athlete. We all appreciate the impact she had on our basketball program in the past four seasons.”
